š How They Met
Where and when did you first meet?
YV: We met in April 2020 at Conquest Completion Services, one of our previous employers. I was working in accounting, and Eric was the head of HR. Our paths crossed at work, and thatās how our story began.
EF: CCS, baby! Iām pretty sure she had no idea what I did, other than play cornhole in the middle of the day with our head of safety.
What were your first impressions of each other?
YV: If you ask Eric, heāll tell you his very first impression of me was that I was pretty. As for me, I thought Eric was incredibly handsome and had the nicest smile.
EF: Thatās the prettiest accountant Iāve ever seen. But she was quiet, didnāt lead with her life story (like me), so there was a lot of mystery there.
Was it love at first sight, or did it take time?
YV: It wasnāt exactly love at first sight. Since we worked together, we kept things professional, at least in the beginning. Over time, our friendship grew naturally at work, and before we knew it, those professional conversations turned into something much deeper.
EF: Yes. Wait, what was her answer? You know what, doesnāt matter. Embrace vulnerability. Yes. Final answer.
š¬ Early Connection
Any funny or awkward first date stories?
YV: When Eric asked me out to dinner for our first date, I tried to play it cool and casually said, āSure, Iāll meet you there.ā But Eric quickly clarified, āNo, itās a date, and Iām picking you up.ā I remember suddenly feeling so nervous, wondering what we were going to talk about the whole ride to dinner. Of course, once we were together, the nerves faded, and the conversation flowed easily.
EF: So manyā¦that the internet doesnāt need to know about.
š± Growing Together
What shared interests brought you closer?
YV: What truly brought us together was the love we both have for our families and the values we share at our core. Add to that our passion for food and music-whether discovering a new restaurant or rocking out at a concert. We realized we had found something special in each other.
EF: All the important stuff. Our core values ā family, loyalty, food ā pretty powerful foundation to build from. Weāre both spontaneous, which is a double-edged sword. It takes both of us firing on all cylinders to actually plan something.
When did you realize this was āthe oneā?
YV: There wasnāt one single moment, it was a collection of little moments that made it clear. The way we could talk about anything, how much we laughed together, and how natural it felt to just be ourselves with one another. Over time, it became undeniable.
EF: I had a pretty good idea before our first date, just had to get her onboard. After our first date, I burned the boats and told everyone I knew.
š§ Looking Ahead
What are you most excited about in your future together?
YV/EF: Weāre most excited about building a lifetime of adventures together, and as a family, traveling the world, discovering new places, and showing up for each other every day.
Any shared dreams or goals?
YV/EF: Travel, retire early, move to an island, open a scooter rental shop.
